Over the past two years the Dicky Beach Happy Community Network has worked to raise funds to help various causes. These include -

 

➢     Purchasing a Beach Access Wheelchair

➢     Relocating disaster victims for short stays at Dicky Beach– in this case tsunami victims from Japan.

 

We invite you, as key stakeholders in the well being of Dicky Beach, to join us on Monday 26th November from 5.30pm to discuss the next stage in the development of the Happy Community Network. We realize that your time is valuable but trust you can put aside 1 hour to join us to discuss this plan.

 

We have a diverse community ranging from holiday makers to those that have lived  in the area for many generations. Dicky Beach has retained it’s village & community atmosphere and it is this that attracts many people to our area. We wish to continue to grow our community network through a range of initiatives – some have already been launched. Examples of these are-

 

➢     A volunteer tip run & recycling garden

➢     The setting up of the Dicky Beach Happy Community Web page

 

However very few in the community are involved or aware of these projects. These projects need funds and to date this has been via donations from the community – the beach access wheelchair was the first project funded in part by donation tins made available in your stores. We are not asking you to contribute money directly from your businesses as we all know that doing business at the moment is tough. Rather we are asking you to come to our meeting with thoughts and suggestions that can make Dicky Beach a healthier & happier community. Your support in promoting initiatives is vital to ensure the rest of the community knows what is happening and what they can do to participate.

Time: 5:30pm-6:30pm  26th Nov. 2012 (Monday)
